Assalamu'alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Finally, i’m blogging after edges of missing in action.

I’m back in school & praise to Allah SWT I ended my first semester ( 3rd semester ) in degree. For those whom are new, i had further my studies in Statistic and currently killing myself as a Bachelor in Statistic in UiTM Kelantan, Kota Bharu . Since i was from diploma in Statistic based on UiTM, i got in using the Penerapan ( which you will be directly be in semester 3, therefore semester 3 is your first semester if you are from the penerapan intake ) intakes .

I had always wanting to share my backpackers    travel moment and itinerary.

#Rumah10getaway
This is the first time, we gather after being separated by distance as not all of us got into the course that we applied as 1st choice and some of us got a different campus. After sooo long of separation , finally getting to meet them ; i was totally overjoy

For your 1st holiday together ( as adult without parents ) Penang Island was our destination.

My budget to this 3 day 2 night only cost below RM 300

Due to different county, i and yana came from Kelantan, while Nab,Sara and Izzaty are from Kuala Lumpur and Alisa and Fatin will be coming from Langkawi and Perlis. Therefore, the 7 of us all will be arriving at Penang and Aliah will be waiting for us there. All the eight of us!

I will put the cost at the end of the entry

Day 1 (from kelantan - penang)

Me and yana drove from kelantan to penang, we when up the hill of grik and all the way down to penang. It was a tough one. Arrived in tasek gelugor, Penang at 6 in the morning. While the other arrived before & after us.

After zohor we pack get ready and all the 6 of us cramp my car and i drove to Ferry station to cross the island, alisa & fatin will be joining us later.

From tasek gelugor to ferry ( takes around half an hour ) boarding the ferry with a vehicle isn’t my first time as i when to penang before with my family just that I didn’t get to explore the whole Penang while with them.

While the ferry took us all to the other side, passenger are allow to
get out from the vehicle and hang out around the ferry
While you are in Penang, your waze is very useful ! Our first stop was the famous Ais Kepal which has the fruits flavour, usually we have back at kelantan was only the Milo Ais Kepal.

- due to the weather, you barely can see the water below the masjid as it was dry but the view was worth

After that we stop by Tesco to buy some food for survival during the night time & mini suprise party for the june & july babies

The food that i ate at Padang Kota Lama
Medan Selera, Padang Kota Lama
Attraction : what you want, will be granted over there. There are many stalls over there unfortunately be aware of :-
  1. The place you sat ( they divided the place using colours. So you need to see which color & siting area you are. Thus, if you sit on the right side of the hawker centre you are only allowed to eat on the right side only. )
  2. Which stall you ordered ( once you sit down, your table will be surrounded with them(seller)trying to take your order as this is how they fight for customers, therefore if u would like to self order you need to be careful of which stall you order as they(the other opponent side) will start screaming at you if you sat on their side yet you bought foods from their opponents)
  3. Do not eat the food that your didn’t order( this is very normal as they are talking many order so they might had mistaken your order with your neighbours order, therefore never eat it because you will be charged)
*parking are limited, if you don’t mind walking then happy eating!

Head back to freshen up and set up the party and watching final of the FIFA Football Worldcup
The view from our apartment's balcony

We book the hotel/apartment service at Mansion one via agoda/trivago ( RM  656 for two night , RM 82 per pax )
The best moment when you finally reunited with your buddy
Worth every penny as there is kitchen provided, 2 bed rooms , 3 queen size bed and one double single bed ( air-con fully )

That night, we had a suprise mini party to celebrate our babies birthday, we bought big apple earlier at Tesco , 12 pieces ( RM 28.80 , RM 3.60 /pax). Since it’s backpackers trip, i brought a box of maggi from home to cut the cost for food.

People go to Penang because Penang is rich with food & eye-catching view. My tips is i choose to share the food with my friends because we are going on a food hunting, if you full your tank ,later on you can’t finish your next food. Besides that, i’m more to capturing my moment in Penang than food. In sha allah, i will go Penang again with the budget of RM 300 for food & hotels only. Next semester break maybe ? Hopefully.

Hope that my information is useful for you guys! The more you share the lower your cost will be! For more photos you get find at my food instagram : @food.camerena
